Terms & Conditions

  1. Hac”KP is an initiative by Kerala Police Cyberdome (hereafter referred to as ‘Organizer’) to provide a plaform for technical experts from public (hereafter referred to as ‘Participant(s)’) to suggest, develop and implement digital solutions to enable e-policing for the betterment of civil safety.

  2. Registering for the hackathon is entirely free of charge and is open to citizens of India. Interested participants can join as an individual or as a team of 3-5.

  3. Teams and individuals wishing to sign up for the hackathon must complete the online registration at https://hackp.kerala.gov.in , indicating the personal details of the individual or of each team member.

  4. For those who wish to participate as a team, one individual will be responsible to register each individual team member that the team will comprise of and be accountable for adherence to terms and conditions on behalf of the whole team.

  5. The members of each team are to ensure that the personal information provided upon registration online is true and accurate and must unconditionally accept any and all decisions made by Hackathon organizers with regard to event organization.

  6. If information provided during online registration is found to be incomplete and/or inaccurate, even if related to just one team member, the entire team concerned may be disqualified from the competition.

  7. Teams may not be changed once the competition has begun, and should even just one member of a team leave the competition, the entire team may be rendered ineligible.

  8. Applications will be reviewed based on merit on the information submitted in the Registration form. Selection of the teams will be based on the sole discretion of the Organizers based on defined criteria.

  9. Organizers reserves the right to refuse admission to the venue to any Participant(s) who behave inappropriately.

  10. Participants shall not try to influence the Organizers or Judging panel. All communications to Organizers shall be directed through the email ID , and no direct contact to any individual shall be allowed. Any such attempts shall immediately disqualify the entire team from the Hackathon.

  11. Participation in the Hackathon is purely voluntary does not entail any right to compensation of any kind or to reimbursement of any expenses incurred.

  12. Participants must ensure that their ideas/projects were not previously been submitted to other initiatives or Hackathons.

  13. Participants must ensure that the Prototype or mock-up presented is an original work and in no way violates, in whole or in part, the intellectual or industrial property rights of others and releases the Organizer from any and all responsibility, liability, or request for compensation for damages that should be made by any third party;

  14. Organizers owns the Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) related to the ideas and deliverables submitted during the hackathon.

  15. Ideas/mockups selected from the hackathons may get developed as products/solutions under the guidance and close monitoring of Kerala Police Cyberdome. Cyberdome owns the right to use the products for the digitization initiatives of Kerala Police. Any further marketing/commercialization of the solution will be governed by the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) signed between Cyberdome and the Participants on a case to case basis.

  16. Organizers reserves the right to publish the prototype or mock-up on web sites or social media which may result in the same being visible to the public. Organizers assumes no responsibility for any use and/or abuse of the idea and/or any development of the idea and/or related project by any party coming into contact with said idea online or on social media and hereby waives any right to demand compensation for damages for any reason.

  17. Participants must ensure that any information shared with them during the course of the Hackathon or during the project implementation phase is strictly held confidential. Any unauthorized disclosure of information may result in strict penal actions.

  18. Participants must bring whatever hardware and/or software they believe they need to participate. Organizers will not be liable or responsible for any damages which may occur to any personal belongings including but not limited to damages and theft.
